Baron Frame and Fork

If we sell you a frame - you better do it justice and put good stuff on it. If I find you with an Alex wheelset, Tektro brakes, and 8sp Ultegra components circa 1994 I will phyisically take the bike back. Our frames are way too nice for that shit.

Geometry for the Baron frame: Bike Wall

Bike Wall

Frame Size

It all starts with the frame. Baron frames are built with a sloping top tube and are sized as if they were a traditional frame. "Effective" size I guess we'll call it. The geometry of each of the sizes is available here.

Custom

We're pretty confident in the geometry we've put together for our line of Baron bicycles, but we understand that people are built a little different. If you know you need the long top tube for your long torso, or if you're built like an Italian climber, give us a call and we'll work it out. Sure it's a little more to go off-script, but we want to make sure that your bike fits perfectly.

Stem Length/Angle

The stem is responsible for getting you the most comfort out of your ride. Too long and you might throw your steering off. Too high and you feel like your driving a bus. Too low and you loose feeling in your nuts.

Bar Width

The rule of thumb here is shoulder width, but for a winter ride - wider is usually better. Open up the chest, breath deep, all the good stuff when you aren't so worried about getting "aero".

Color

No promises, but there may be some flexibility with color (ok - there is). Dark Slate Grey is the Baron color, but if you want something else we can dip some frames in some other colors. Just ask.

Shimano

What's to say here. If you don't Shimano, well you probably shouldn't even be considering a bike this nice. Quality throughout the line, with the latest stuff being downright sexy.

SRAM

SRAM has made a name for itself in the road components game at record speed. They've done it with simplicity and the durability that their mountain components are known for.

White Industries

White has been in the mountain bike game for years. Their stuff is known to be some of the most durable around. We build our wheels around their hubs because we wanted something that would yield years of trouble-free riding.

Velocity

Velocity is a hot these days. Colored rims make them famous, but they are a favorite of the messenger set for their durability. Add to that the fact that you don't need to use the rim braking surface (on our disc bikes) and these rims might honestly roll true forever. Ask about the ELVS setup for super-reflective coatings.

Chris King

I'm not sure we even need to talk about King. Headsets, Hubsets, Bottom Brackets - there may not be a finer equipment manufacturer out there. Oh and all those colors!

Edge Composites

The latest in Carbon Technologies means top-end performance. If you're going to build the ultimate race/train/cross bike you might as well get the very best wheelset you can. That means starting with some Edge hoops.

PRO by Shimano

A relative new-comer to the US market, PRO has been onboard european teams rides for quite some time. Tested by the best and available for your Baron. Lots of white, lots of carbon, and all PRO (yes...the capitals make it even more PRO).

Fizik

Do we need to explain Fizik? Largest marketshare, a fit for all body types, color. Ok - moving on.

PowerTap

If you aren't riding with power, you're just out riding your bike (which is ok too). If you want to be serious about your training and get the most for your time on the bike the PowerTap is for you.

Velo Orange

Velo Orange makes the nicest winter fenders out there. That's all there is to say about that.

Full Speed Ahead

FSA provides much of the "trim" to the Baron Bikes for 2009. They are a local company (Woodinville, WA) with a history deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest.
